I compared the short story, The Invasion from Outer Space with the bamboo concept presented in Soft Apocalypse.20150717
The short story, The Visit has a memorable quote. When asked why he hadn't contacted our protagonist in nine years, the answer was that he didn't have anything to show our protagonist until now -- a delapidated house out in nowhere, living with a frog wife.
